Anna Blackburn’s story, “Visiting Hours”, was selected as the 1st prize winner of this year’s winner of the Write Action contest. She is invited to read this story at the Write Action Local Author Showcase, during the Literary Festival on Saturday, Oct 5, 2014. 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm at the Robert H. Gibson River Garden
There were so many excellent stories that it was a prolonged descion.
We hope you can come to the Showcase to hear local authors read some of their work.
Congrats
Congrats to Anna. Perhaps after it is read it could be posted here as well.
How about 2nd and 3rd places?
The Winners of Second and Third Place
“A Letter to my Husband” by Helen Neswald, won second place. It’s use of language it’s sincerity, and its natural poignancy are what stood out for me.
Stephanie Greene’s “Immersion” had more than a trace of sardonic humor, but it was both a consideration of hope as a topic, as well as a humorous and fantastical look at the future.
It was inspiring to read so many stories about hope, from many different perspectives and in many different styles. In a way, it was like swimming in a Sea of Bratttleboro. There were many other excellent stories, and I would love to make all of them available for everyone to read, but of course would need to obtain permission from each author before doing so. So, let me try to do exactly that.
