DRAFT MINUTES
The Windham Southeast School District Board met for an Executive Session at 6:00
p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 remotely only, via Zoom
Attendance:
Board Members: Deborah Stanford (DS), Robin Morgan (RMO), Tim Maciel (RM), Shaun Murphy (SM), Ruby McAdoo (RMC), Kimberly Price (KP), Eva Nolan (EN), Anne Beekman (AB), Kelly Young (KY)
Staff Members and Administrators: Mark Speno
Others: Pietro Lynn, Kendall Hoechst, Mindy Haskins Rogers, Sherri Keefe.
AGENDA
I. Call to Order
DS as Vice Chair opened the meeting due to KY being delayed by weather conditions. DS
called the meeting to order at 6:01.
DS read the remote meeting statement.
II. Executive Session
1VSA §313 (a)(1)(F) confidential attorney-client communications made for the purpose of providing professional legal services to the body.
MOTION BY KY TO FIND THAT PREMATURE PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE
WOULD CLEARLY PLACE THE PUBLIC BODY OR PERSON INVOLVED IN
SUBSTANTIAL DISADVANTAGE. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
MOTION BY KY TO ENTER ES UNDER 1VSA §313 (A)(1)(F) CONFIDENTIAL
ATTORNEY-CLIENT COMMUNICATIONS MADE FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL LEGAL SERVICES TO THE BODY.
KY stated that this is a combination of two executive sessions for the same purpose that are happening concurrently.
DS clarified that the board will be inviting in Mark Speno, Kendall Hoechst and Pietro Lynn.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
DS explained that no action is expected following the executive session.
The board entered Executive Session at 6:08.
The board rose from Executive Session at 8:17.
Sherri Keefe commented that she is here to bear witness for all those who are waiting for the resolution to these issues and for the transparency that the board has promised. For healing for survivors, their family members, and all community members that have been affected, and have been waiting for answers, some for over 50 years. She expressed hope that we can achieve this through this process.
MOTION BY DS TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20.
