The Windham Southeast School District (WSESD) Board has received letters of interest from seven candidates for the vacant seat on the Board. Any individual appointed to the open seat on the WSESD Board must be a resident of Brattleboro and will complete the remaining term of the open seat, which is through March 2024, when they will be eligible to run for election to the WSESD Board.
The seven candidates from Brattleboro are:
Brian Hughes
Rich Leavy
Rikki Risatti
Colleen Savage
Matt Schibley
Liz Hibbard Strong
Laure Olivia Sweetnam
As required by statute, the WSESD Board is seeking feedback from the Brattleboro Selectboard on these candidates before making a decision to appoint one. It is anticipated that the Selectboard will consider the candidates at their October 3 meeting. The candidates are all invited to attend and speak at the upcoming WSESD Board meeting on October 10. The WSESD Board will consider each of these candidates for appointment to the open seat on the WSESD Board and anticipates making a decision at the October 10 meeting.
