LIKE ISRAEL ONLY WORSE

My biggest fear is that Trump ends up in the White House again. It would be a disaster for this country and for the world, but it is something that could happen. Remember how improbable it seemed the first time around?
The best way we have to prevent this catastrophe is to vote and to make sure that a majority of the people who vote have functioning brains and a sense of justice and morality based in a world where the truth matters.
It is also possible that even if Trump ends up in prison he could still win the election. If that happens the United States would lose its standing as a world power and it is very likely that our economy could end up in the toilet. The world repercussions would be staggering.
We need to start talking about what the world would look like if the would-be dictator wins office so we can make it clear to people exactly what they should expect during another Trump term in office.
The first thing he will do is to pardon all of the people convicted for their part in the January 6th insurrection. He might even try to push a bill to make January 6 a holiday to be celebrated. Stranger things have happened.
Once those criminals and a host of others are pardoned he will bestow the Medal of Freedom on them. The official significance of the medal as stated says, “The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the Nation’s highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”
There is a good chance that such an action could set off a chain reaction of national protests culminating in a major march on Washington. There may be other reasons for mass protests during a second Trump term but this issue could fan the flames of resentment felt by millions of Americans and it could rise to the level of a new civil war.
Other issues will bear on our relation with other countries such as Russia and North Korea. Trump will renew his buddy relationship with Putin and he will trash Ukraine and Zelensky as he moves to cut off all aid to Ukraine. If that happens the war will end quickly while Russia occupies the country and carries out a ruthless campaign of ethnic cleansing supported by the United States.
Trump will undo all of the climate agreements we have made and he will resume his alienation of all countries that do not share his ideas of autocratic rule. Within a few months of taking office the world will react to the trashing of America by placing trade sanctions on us and making it difficult for us to do business globally. Trump will spin that to say that he is successfully making America great by isolating us from the rest of the world.
The result of his disastrous foreign agenda will be for the American economy to tank. The stock market will hit all time lows and all of the economic progress made by the Biden administration will be erased.
On the domestic front the culture wars will only intensify as the right wing cabal, energized by the Trump ascension to the throne, passes sweeping legislation to outlaw people from living their lives as anything other than heterosexuals. Suicide rates will rise and school curricula will be based on all of the principles that the new Secretary of Education, Ron DeSantis, dictates. Greg Abbott will become Secretary of Homeland Security and Marjorie Taylor Green will be Secretary of State.
If you want a real world example of how this country will change if Trump wins the election look to Israel where an indicted leader is running roughshod over his democracy while marginalizing everyone who does not agree with his right wing agenda and making the apartheid state even worse. We will be like Israel, only worse.
