The Tigger character from Winnie the Pooh is definitely based on life, and here’s how I know. We have these two kittens, you see, and being relatively new to the planet, they’re curious about everything, especially food. If food appears, no matter what the food is, both kittens (but especially youngest) have to come and investigate. And this is how we discovered that tiggers like:
- Goat cheese
- Almond milk
- Beet dip (if it contains goat cheese)
- Diced shrimp
- Tuna salad
- Lemon mayo dressing
- Cottage cheese
- Avocado
- Sourdough pancakes with butter
And potentially vanilla ice cream although we aren’t letting them find out about that one. There’s got to be a limit.
To be clear, I don’t actually feed them all this stuff, although sometimes I give them a taste to see if they’ll lose interest. But usually we just shoo them away (over and over again).
So yes, like Milne’s Tigger, our kittens are curious about all food, will try anything, and are persistent in obtaining it. The only difference between Tigger and our kittens is that Tigger doesn’t actually like all that many foods, while our tiggers seem to like a lot of things you wouldn’t expect them to like. Truly omnivorous, these cats.
So there you have it — the culinary preferences of tiggers, or at least the two we know. Your tiggers may differ.
