OVERVIEW:
The Vermont Jazz Center received a generous Arts Impact Award from the Vermont Arts Council and further support from the Windham Foundation to sponsor its second annual Emerging Arts Festival. This weekend’s activities will include a Jazz Walk during Brattleboro’s first Friday Gallery Walk. Seven different student groups will perform jazz music in five venues. The Festival will also include a Saturday afternoon workshop and evening concert at the VJC with renowned Cuban pianist, Harold López-Nussa and his quartet.

Jazz Walk (Friday, Nov. 1)
The Vermont Jazz Center in collaboration with Gallery Walk, Brattleboro Downtown Alliance and five venues will be presenting a Jazz Walk celebrating youth jazz on Friday, November 1st from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Young musicians from area jazz programs will be performing at The Boys and Girls Club, 118 Elliot, Tulip Café, Echo Lounge and The Lounge at Duo Restaurant.
Workshop on Cuban Jazz and Concert (Saturday, Nov. 2)
The Emerging Artist Festival will continue at the Vermont Jazz Center on Saturday, November 2nd with two events: At 2:00 PM, the Harold López-Nussa Quartet will present a workshop on the basic building blocks of Cuban Jazz. This workshop is free and open to the public. At 8:00 PM the VJC will present a ticketed concert with piano virtuoso Harold López-Nussa’s Cuban Quartet.
