Psychosynthesis Training and Counseling

The field of psychosynthesis is a transpersonal psychology that works with the natural tendency to seek meaning and purpose in life, thus integrating both psychological and spiritual development. On Sunday, July 14th, the Synthesis Center is offering a free introduction to psychosynthesis at 6:30 p.m. in Brattleboro. The program includes a brief presentation on the principles of psychosynthesis, along with some experiential exercises and an overview of upcoming training opportunities.

Based on the pioneering work of Dr. Roberto Assagioli, a contemporary of Carl Jung, psychosynthesis literally refers to the synthesis of the many aspects of the self into a more complete and whole experience of being. Assagioli’s theories and methods have found broad applications in the fields of mental health, social work, education and other related fields of human development.

Graduates of the Synthesis Center program have utilized their psychosynthesis training to work in private practice under the Vermont state roster of non-licensed psychotherapists. Some scholarship and financial assistance is available to cover tuition costs through VSAC and the Synthesis Center. The next Level I training program begins in the fall, 2013.

The free evening program in Brattleboro will be led by local psychotherapist and educator Jon Schottland, a senior trainer at the Synthesis Center for the past eight years. Schottland has opened up a psychosynthesis counseling center in downtown Brattleboro this year.

The event will take place at 73 Main St. and is free and open to the public. Space is limited. For more information or to reserve a space, contact programs@synthesiscenter.org or call 802-451-6768.
