In the news: 2 activists who filmed undercover videos of Planned Parenthood are charged with 15 felonies. Also in the news: no more internet privacy for me and you, your emails and internet messages can be sold without your knowledge! So, what difference does it make TO YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS if a conversation is in writing, such as in an email, and you thought that only the person or persons you were sending the email to would be reading it – or if your communication is in spoken words with someone?
When you are on Facebook or Google or any other internet entity, aren’t they sitting in on your conversations and seeing and recording everything?

Shouldn’t everything we do on our computers be protected even though we are using digital “papers” by writing e-mails and aren’t computers our “effects”? WHY DON’T PEOPLE LIVING WITH A DISABLITY OF DEAFNESS, WHO CAN’T HEAR, AND WHO USE WRITING TO COMMUNICATE, HAVE AS MUCH PRIVACY AS THOSE WHO SPEAK WORDS? WHY DON’T WE ALL DEMAND THAT THE U.S. CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO PRIVACY INCLUDE MODERN INVENTIONS LIKE INTERNET, COMPUTERS AND EMAIL AND ALL?
Slanted writing
You make it sound as though the 2 people charged were just trespassing or something instead of making false films showing heavily edited and photo shopped acts of illegal sales of body parts to vilify an organization that saves hundreds of thousands of women’s lives every year. They should have been charged with much more. It’s very irresponsible of you to write these inflammatory headlines and posts with trumped up “facts” and then not bother to actually explain what the circumstances were. If you want to be seen as a valid voice in the community you need to start writing posts that have some substance and validity to them rather than just putting down words for shock value. The two situations that you mention in your post have absolutely nothing to do with each other. There are enough terrible things happening in this country without people making things seem even worse than they are. Take some responsibilty for your words.
yep

The fourth amendment to the constitution guarantees the right to be free from
unreasonable searches and seizures, and is often argued as protecting our right
to privacy.
Why are videographers charged with
felony privacy invasion, while
Google and Facebook are not?
Do you believe that Google and
Facebook are not disecting and
editing and presenting your own
personal information to others
in a way that might shock your
sensibilities?
Perhaps you are

Planned Parenthood provides abortions

so that Planned Parenthood can
send you a commercial or
advertisement for their abortion
services, and convince a young
woman to abort her baby so that
they can send the babies body
parts to a laboratory?
Google and Facebook KNOW when a
young woman or teenage girl writes
an email or message and tells a
friend that she is pregnant and
doesn’t know what to do.
They can sell that information
to Planned Parenthood which can
direct an email advertisement
to that girl or woman to sell
their abortion services which
then allows them to profit further
by providing the babies parts to
laboratories.
There are two opposing sides to
the abortion issues, and the Pro-Life side
might not want Google and Facebook
selling the private information
of young women to Planned Parenthood
which might target them in
advertisements for abortion
services.
The bottom line is,
of course these issues of privacy
are connected under the Fourth and Fifth
Amendments to the United States
Constitution.

And perhaps someone who has lived as long as you have and has run for political office as many times as you have should at the very least be able to get their facts straight. First of all, the word is ” fetus” not “baby”. Secondly no body parts are being sold. Many of the women who avail themselves of the vital services that Planned Parenthood offer will donate cells from their aborted fetus to be used in research to treat and hopefully someday -prevent many life threatening illnesses. There are no Planned Parenthood staff stealing baby body parts. That is an out right lie. The money involved in the donation of fetus cells is to process the donation and get it safely to it’s research destination. No one is taking vacations in tropical countries or golfing in resorts with any money made from the “sale” of baby body parts. Safe, affordable abortions are only one small part of what PP does. They also provide GYN exams, pap smears, mammograms. treat STDs, offer counseling, run school programs that promote healthy body image and safe sexuality. They offer inexpensive birth control and have patients of ALL genders. Do you honestly believe that PP staff are convincing women to have abortions so they have a surplus of “body parts” to sell to the highest bidder? It’s those kind of closed mind, alternative fact, outrageous claims that are making this country horribly unsafe for girls and women.
As far as your statement that your post is about privacy issues- I am well aware that every time I click on my laptop, use my iphone, read a book on my tablet that there is a good chance that my actions are being looked at. I’ve looked up an animal sanctuary in Florida and within hours had offers of cheap flights to Florida and hotel deals. Anyone who uses an kind of technology knows that there is a price to be paid for that usage. Whether or not Trumps’ persistent campaign to take away every single bit of privacy along with many basic human rights -will hold up has yet to be seen. But aligning the people who illegally filmed and then altered footage of a PP representative talking about something she knew little about is in no way the same as FB selling off my searches for good murder mysteries or articles about animal abuse. One is done for profit. One was done to destroy an organization that takes care of people and provides health services.
There is a reason why you don’t ever win any of the multiple offices you’ve campaigned for. There are probably many reasons. But, one of them is that you persist in posting these nonsensical headlines that you think will shock people and then write untruths about the subjects you apparently feel are important.
Twisting details and written laws to fit your own narrative and using all uppercase letters to get your indignation across do not, in fact, make what you’re writing any more true. We now live in a country that is ruled by outright lies, exaggerated claims and alternative realities. You posts play right into that.
2nd Response to 2nd Comment by KAlden
Hi there, again!
Well, KAlden, you certainly have presented OPINION
as FACT, and lots of people, actual Vermont voters,
don’t agree with your opinion, which you stated as a
fact.
An unborn baby is a BABY, a living human being.
As a candidate in 2016 I received hundreds of
postcards from Vermont voters who all agree that
an unborn baby is a baby, a living human being
with a soul. I read one of those postcards which
I received in a live television candidate debate
on Vermont PBS.
It may come as a shock and a surprise to you,
but not all Vermonters believe abortion is a
wonderful thing. Some of them don’t believe that
abortions save lives,
they believe it is an act
of killing and murder.
I listen to all of the voters each campaign season.
I listen and hear what they are telling me.
And I tell voters that I will bring up issues
that the other candidates refuse to talk about,
because I will be their voice when they have
been silenced by the majority.
I never said I was worried about winning an election,
my purpose is to give a voice to those who otherwise
wouldn’t have their views shared.
What I said, basically, on Vermont PBS in a live
candidate debate, after
reading the post card from a Vermont voter,
was that I think we need equal funding for
adoption services.
After all, why should
adoption fees be larger than the fee for abortion?
Do you seriously think marijuana was popular
when I first ran as a candidate in 2002?

First and foremost I never
First and foremost I never said nor do I believe that ‘abortion is a wonderful thing”. The decision to seek an abortion is a difficult, heart wrenching and painful decision that no one can identify with unless they have been in that position. One can go online and find hundreds of “facts” to justify any opinion they might have. That doesn’t make it true. Articles from right to life organizations tend to be just a little prejudiced in their view and more often than not contain very little fact. Until it is viable outside of the woman’s body a fetus is not a baby. Sorry. I know that you and your other right to life cronies like to cite that as a fact but scientifically and medically it is not true.
Vermont is a progressive state. Most Vermonters believe in the right for a woman to make her own decisions about her body. They also support safe and affordable health services for woman – including abortions. No one “likes” abortions. But, sometimes the circumstances surrounding an unplanned pregnancy leave no other viable alternative. If adoption were the solution we would not have children living their lives bouncing through the foster care system until they age out at 18 – with no support; no family; often no future. Where are the right to life proponents when kids in foster care are desperately seeking a home and a family to love them? If everyone who was against abortions adopted or fostered a child our foster care system would not be over loaded with unloved children. I don’t know what world you live in but in the real world women get to decide what they do with their bodies. At least for now, anyway. That may not be the case if Trump and people like you have their way. It wasn’t so long ago that women were dying from illegal abortions performed by unlicensed and unqualified butchers who were in the abortion “business” to make money. Is that the era you would like to see us return to? Where only the wealthy and the people with the right connections can get safe medical care? You can take your 541,000 articles about botched abortions and the fabricated facts about babies being murdered and feel like you’ve won. You can even write it all in CAPITAL LETTERS since that’s what you like to do. If I wanted to waste a few ours I could find at least as many and probably more articles about safe abortions and how it is vital for the well being of women that licensed and safe facilities are available. I could no doubt find hundreds of letters and testimony from women who have had both legal and illegal abortions and how it affected their lives. But, since I actually have a life I’m not going to do that. What I will do – along with thousands of other Vermonters is continue to support Planned Parenthood and the good work they do; continue to fight for safe and affordable health services for women ( and all genders; continue to vote for candidates who support the right to choose and continue to work to get small minded, conservative, greedy and ignorant politicians out of office. It’s disturbing that you put so much energy into campaigning for marijuana reform and endless political fantasies and so little time into supporting other women.
And, as far as presenting “opinion as fact” you are the queen of that tactic. I wouldn’t attempt to unthrone you. I actually know the difference between opinion and fact.
