Harmony lot was the site of one of thirty My Dog is Cool Action Day events held around the country this month. Despite the cold, wind, and driving rain which eventually forced us to leave earlier than we wanted to (and Kevin Maloney’s rather scary mask and tail) lots of laughs were had and stories of dogs in hot cars shared with us from visitors from South Carolina, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Texas, as well as around Vermont.
Folks and their dogs happily accepted t-shirts, bumper stickers, fliers, natural gourmet dog food samples, and Vermont made Bongo and Blanket’s Bake House Crunchy Peanut Butter doggie biscuits.

girl or boy?
Are you suggesting a skatepark for young male dogs in Harmony? Now there’s a great town plan! Can you imagine the increase in town revenue? 😉
Good boys!
You did a grand job. I’m glad people are paying attention to this. Well done, you two.
Thank you!
Thanks, annikee! It was great fun and very rewarding to see how many people are aware of this issue. The comments regarding the new signs in town were 100% positive and that feels just great. 🙂
Agreed
The new signs are great. Very easy to read, simple, and visible.
We should now make the parking info that easy to read… : )
ha ha ha
I think we spent as much, or more, time explaining how to work the parking kiosks and making change (we had tons of quarters in the car) as we did talking about dogs in hot cars and giving out goodies!
Ha!
I think one of those wayward parking kiosk people was my husband!
!
Well done to you both!
!!
Thank you, Ken.
Thank God for the signs in Brattleboro

Just when you thought you couldn't stand the issue any longer...

This is made even more painful that it occurred only days after our event in Brattleboro. We always need more people, so please consider joining this effort and taking it to other towns. Thanks
PS
Posters and bumpers stickers always available for no charge to any individual or business that would like one.
So many questions, so few answers
Amazing!

Brattleboro gets a nod...
Brattleboro got a nod today on Vermont Public Radio (http://digital.vpr.net/post/mccallum-dogs-cars-0). A letter mentioning Brattleboro also made a Philadelphia newspaper recently and folks in Virginia and Burlington, Vermont are seeking to install signs in their town parking lots as well.
