Montreal (AFP) – Leonard Cohen, the storied musician and poet hailed as one of the most visionary artists of his generation, has died at age 82.
He was able to sum everything up in one simple sentence:
“Everybody knows the deal is rotten: Old Black Joe’s still pickin’ cotton. Everybody knows.”
RIP, Leonard

A genius, a visionary and a gentle man.
I was devastated to hear this news last night. His songs have often felt like the soundtrack of my life. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert at Madison Square Garden 3 years ago- one of his last public appearances. It was a night of magic. Almost 3 solid hours of songs and poetry from a man who appeared to have the energy and stamina of someone decades younger. Being able to experience that evening seems even more precious now. He will be tremendously missed but I have no doubt that his words will continue to inspire and comfort people as they have done for all these years.
