Once again, the NY Times has been unfair to The Donald, by reporting the facts.
“And when you’re a star they let you do it,” Mr. Trump says. “You can do anything.”
Mr. Trump then elaborated and added, “Grab them by the pussy.”
“I apologize if anyone was offended,” Trump. (One of those “if anyone was offended” apologies: as though he does not actually admit that he did anything wrong, except that in the eye of the beholder it might have been interpreted as offensive.)
hmm
This has been the most bizarre campaign year I’ve ever witnessed.
Cleary this was in the opposition research file, awaiting deployment at an opportune time. The day Wall Street speeches were leaked (something expected) makes for a good day to remind people of the depravity of Trump once again, so no one focuses on the “you need to have a public position, and a private position” type of comments made by Clinton to bankers.
The debate tonight will be quite something.
My prediction is that both candidates are out of the race by the end of the evening. Trump, via even more insane comments disqualifying him, and Clinton, because Trump will be so odd that her head will implode trying to respond at the podium. : )
…
More seriously, it seems like we are witnessing the demise of the Republican party. Over the last few years it splintered into the hard-core tea party vs the traditional conservatives. Their plan to simply oppose things backfired, they have no credible candidates from any faction of their ranks, and they’ve spent the year destroying their brand.
The only option left is to rebrand – new name, new focus, new energy. There is no way it continue as is.
The Democrats are following not so far behind, but they managed to pull off one final right-leaning mainstream candidate success, it seems.
