The Windham Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and Southeastern Vermont Economic Development Strategies (SeVEDS) are pleased to announce the Career Social, Thursday, Oct. 22, 5:30-7 pm, at the backroom bar of Duo Restaurant in downtown Brattleboro. Aspiring entrepreneurs, makers, and creators are encouraged to attend. The Career Social will provide a casual, fun atmosphere to mingle and meet with a panel of eight local entrepreneurs, as they share how they have managed to follow their passions while living in Southeastern Vermont. Event goers will gather insights and inspiration for pursuing their own enterprises.
The panel includes
Avery Schwenk, Hermit Thrush Brewery
Natalie Blake, Natalie Blake Studios and Fulcrum Arts
Jesse Kayan, Wild Carrot Farm
Louisa Conrad and Lucas Farrell, Big Picture Farm
Jason Jensen, J.Jensen Creative
David Evans, Digicraft
Robin MacArthur, Wildwood Arts
Candace Pearson, BuildingGreen
Even if you are not an aspiring entrepreneur, you will likely enjoy good conversation, food, and drink at the event. The Career Social doubles as this month’s gathering of The Southern Vermont Young Professionals group, which is organized by SeVEDS. Young professionals and college students are encouraged to attend. In addition, the Windham WIB has invited several area businesses to the Career Social to network with event goers. These employers also are participating in the WIB-organized Third Annual Career Expo, taking place that afternoon at the Brattleboro Union High School gym. The Windham WIB encourages professionals, students, and job seekers to attend the Career Expo and Career Social on Oct. 22!
