Haven't heard anything
I checked the website for the project, but it still shows the location as lower Living Memorial Park. No updates in quite a while.
With the location at the top of LMP approved, I’d assume people are actively fundraising and planning. ?? There hasn’t been an update to the Selectboard since the location was set that I’m aware of.
Hey calm down we don't want
Hey calm down we don’t want to rush any decisions! There is a nice fundraising sign near the entrance of LMP, so that’s a start. Must have taken months to agree on the font. I don’t feel any real burning desire on anyone’s part to raise money. Not even a little $35 front page ad in the Commons looking for donations. We’re all busy ranting about public arts projects downtown now. Can’t selfishly/ignorantly/ironically chastise too many projects at once now, can we? Ok I’m done here 😉
Sneaking Suspicion
I have a not so great feeling that in this case no news is not good news.
And so it continues
At the meeting on Tuesday August 11, BASIC was notified that the Town was told by the District Coordinator for the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources that an amendment to the current Act 250 Permit for Living Memorial Park will be required to complete the skatepark/dog park project, citing that the project represents a material change to the existing permit. Further details will be forthcoming as they become available.
Material Change?
Adding recreation to a recreation area is a material change? Go figure.
Perhaps it is because they will be adding some paved surfaces… oh, wait, LMP already has paved surfaces.
I dunno. Sounds like a silly decision to me. Maybe I’m missing something.
