Winter Sunshine Series opens with The Three Little Pigs
PUTNEY- Sandglass opens its series on January 31st with two performances of WonderSpark’s Three Little Pigs, at 1pm and 3pm. The classic tale retold with hilarious puppet pigs and a silly wolf – with an emphasis on ‘being prepared’. Join storyteller and puppeteer Chad Williams for a highly interactive show with tabletop puppets and lots of audience participation. “Little pig, little pig, let me in!” “Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin!” Three Little Pigs build their houses of hay, wood and bricks – but will they withstand the Big Bad Wolf?
“Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in!” WonderSpark’s imaginative blend of storytelling and puppetry actively engages each audience member to become a part of the show. Featuring beautiful sets built by the Manhattan-based Puppet Kitchen, The Three Little Pigs build each house right in front of your eyes!
Sandglass Theater’s Winter Sunshine series is Southern Vermont’s favorite puppet theater event for young audiences. Winter Sunshine provides a lively respite from the cold, a creative interlude between snow shoveling and wood schlepping, and the shine of laughter through the darkness of our Vermont winter months. Sandglass is headed into its 8th year of producing our family series. This series aims to bring some laughter, cheer and entertainment to family audiences, offering a range of live puppetry and theater performances for affordable prices.
WonderSpark Puppets has been entertaining audiences since 2009 with classic fairy tales and original puppet theater stories. They regularly perform at New York City institutions like Central Park, the New York Public Library Main Branch, the Cloisters, and more. They are proud to be a part of Sandglass Theater’s extended puppet family and look forward to performing at their annual fundraisers. Z Briggs, co-artistic director of WonderSpark, is a graduate of the Sandglass Summer Puppet Arts Training Intensive and stage-managed Sandglass’ show ‘Between Sand and Stars’ for two international tours.
