Where are my keys? What is that person’s name? Why did I come into this room?
Sound familiar? Want to do something about it?
The latest brain research has reached such popular publications as National Geographic and AARP Magazine. It has scientifically revealed that our mind-body connections can have a positive influence on our memory. The faculty at Brattleboro-based NEPNI (the Northeast Psycho-Neuro-Immunology Institute) has extensively explored much of this evidence-based brain research and wants to share it with you.
NEPNI’s fun and informative memory enhancement and brain health course, “Train Your Brain to Retain,” will run again this spring at two convenient times. People can choose to take the 7-week class either Tuesday mornings from 10 to noon or Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30. Both sections begin on April
1st. (Yes, April Fool’s Day, the easier to remember it by!)
Classes will be held at 31 Frog Hill in Brattleboro. There is a limit of 12 students per class.
Individuals with concerns about memory and brain function as well as professionals looking to diversify and broaden their practices will benefit from “Train Your Brain to Retain.” Participants learn to strengthen memory by using tools proven through neuro-science. The group explores ten essential points for optimum brain health through activities, exercises, discussions, and lectures in neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to change).
The lead instructor is Heather Taylor, MEd, a longtime enthusiast of holistic healing and a veteran teacher of children and adults. She integrates strategies for studying neuroplasticity with enjoyable, experiential learning. Michael Gigante, PhD, a psychotherapist in private practice for the past thirty years, will share some of the instruction. He has practiced and taught PNI (the mind-body connection)in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Russia. Heather and Michael will be joined by NEPNI staff members Rupa Cousins and Michael Bosworth as well as guest lecturers.
