Are you feeling alone and stressed taking care of a loved one? Would it be helpful to have a safe and confidential place to discuss your concerns and feelings related to being a caregiver? Would support, encouragement and connection to community resources help you in your role as caregiver?
Whether you are caring for a loved one full-time or part-time, please join us at our next Caregiver Support Group. You will be able to connect with others who are currently caring for loved ones (including long-distance) or perhaps are beginning to prepare for the responsibilities of care.
The Caregiver Support Group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month, 1-2:30pm at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. (The group meets at BMH in Conference Room B off the cafeteria on the 2nd Tuesday of the month and the Tyler Conference Room on the 4th Tuesday of the month.)
Ryan Murphy, Brattleboro Area Hospice’s Hospice Care Coordinator, facilitates the group. If you have any questions, contact Ryan at (802)257-0775, otherwise, otherwise you can join our meeting anytime–we hope to see you there!
Great group
I was a part of this group for 4 years until my father passed away. I highly recommend it, care-taking is a draining process and if you can spare an hour, you will not be disappointed. It truly is a safe place to discuss the difficulties and the good times as well. Ryan also has a wealth of information regarding local services, should you or your loved one need something in particular.
