We had a great book publication event in Guilford Nov. 2 for my just-issued Sparks, the collected writing of my mother, Jean Stewart McLean, on the 50th anniversary of her death. (In fact, BCTV recorded the program and it’s being shown several times this week on the cable station.)
The book came out really nicely; its 368 pages include short stories, poems, four one-act plays and other of my mom’s writings, not to mention extensive editorial commentary and notes by her son (that’s me.)
Although my real goal was to have it available online, shortly to be listed on Amazon, there are still some copies of the paperback I advance-ordered for the event. Signed copies are on sale at Everyone’s Books in Brattleboro, and will also be available at the two Friends of Music holiday programs: The Messiah Sing at Centre Church, Brattleboro, on December 7, and at the Christ Church Guiford Christmas programs on the 13th & 15th, at which I’ll be reading my mom’s Christmas story from the book.
Thanks to all for your interest in this project, which I began planning a half-century ago! At least at that rate you can be fairly sure you won’t need to expect a second book from me!
