Super Groundhog Day Dance Party Downtown Feb 2

If you’ve been hibernating like the groundhog this winter, here’s a special press alert just for you: Groundhog Day is a great day for groundhogs of all ages to poke their heads out of their burrows — and go dancing.  WVEW Community Radio is hosting a dance party at 118 Elliot Street on Thursday, February 2, 2017 starting at 7:00PM.  You too can boogy down with us.  There will be an array of talented DJs, including yours truly and Chris Grotke, wearing our other hats as co-hosts of WVEW radio show Bubble Wrap.  With this line-up, expect lots of great dance music no matter what you like to dance to.  Trust us, it will be groovy.

So come on down next Thursday night, February 2, and have a great time dancing to some of the best dance music in town.  Better than karaoke!  Burns calories!  You can even sing along…

$5 at the door.  There will be a cash snack bar and door prizes.

Don’t forget — be like the groundhog and get out this year.  Party like it’s 1999 (or 1975 or 2016…)

Make plans today!

This weekend is a good time to call up some friends and make arrangements to come out Thursday night, Ground Hog Day, for some dancing and fun.

Maybe head out together for a snack or drink first, then come on over to 118 Elliot. Make a night of it. Treat yourself!

Come dancing

You could invite your co-workers and make it an afterwork party.

No need to dance, either. You can just wobble and nod by the wall.

Hope to see you there

Officially now 4 sets, 4 DJ's... do come dance Thursday night!

You are coming, right?

If you are still looking for a reason to go, you could consider this an iBrattleboro night out, like the old days...

WVEW is a sister in local, community media - the station is designed to allow anyone to produce a radio show, as we allow anyone to write stories. (BCTV rounds out Brattleboro's trio - encouraging video productions).

In any case, we love community media and hope you do, too. This is a great night to come out, say hello, and toss a few coins in the direction of WVEW, have fun, see and be seen, and so on.

So, you've already spoken with friends and have a plan to go dancing this Thursday. Today is a good day to start thinking about what to wear. Where are those dancing shoes?

Music starts off at 7. You'll be home by 11. Help make this THE event of the season (and inspire us to do more...)

Make your final plans

Looking forward to seeing people Thursday night. We've been working on a playlist designed for dancing.

There are four DJ slots, starting at 7 pm (Lise and I should be starting up around 8 pm).

Boogie shoes

No excuses. Tonight's the night. The groundhog saw his shadow.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there, even for just a short while. Stop in, say hello, shake a groove thang or two, and support community radio/media.

SORRY I was away for this! Hope all had a blast!

Thank you

Thanks to everyone who came out. It was fun to see people in person and to get some exercise halfway through winter. Also much fun to have loud music playing in a nice space for dancing.

Tune in to WVEW 107.7 fm. Real radio - no commercials.
