Town School Board To Discuss Public Forum

The Brattleboro Town School Board rescheduled last week's cancelled board meeting for today, February 10, 2014 at 5:00 pm at Academy School.  It is expected that the Board will discuss the first public forum which was held in January, among other topics.

Interested members of the public are welcome to attend.  If you do, please post comments here for the benefit of those of us who are unable to be there.

Forum report from school board

I attended the school board meeting on February 10 and was present when the January 22 forum was discussed. Some papers were passed around that reflected the themes, opinions and ideas expressed during the January 22 public forum. These papers as well as a list of future forums are going to be posted on a town school board sponsored website. That has not happened yet, but the board is apparently working on it.

The board collected a lot of information in anonymous surveys from parents, students and staff during the week before the forum and the week of the forum. I believe some form of reporting this information will appear on the website, as well. It could provide much food for thought and direction.

Stay tuned.
