Carbide tipped drill used for creating the underpinnings of the new I-91 bridge footings. Some of the bedrock was so hard they had to substitute a different drill.
Night of 2/17/14 workers are cutting the last piece of metal connecting the middle of the I-91 northbound bridge, turning it into 2 half bridges. Note the center of the east side has already been removed (right of center). I guess the engineers know they're cantilevered enough to stand on their own...
Monday night 1/20/14 workers were welding a big support beam on the bridge...probably to hold it up during demolition.
