Free Kids Class! Fun Foods From Around the World: France

Bonjour! Kids in France eat radishes for breakfast, sliced thinly over a buttered baguette slice. Come and taste this curious breakfast food using the Vermont Harvest of the Month: radishes, plus learn how to prepare this often castaside vegetable 2 other ways: roasted and pickled. It is a radish extravaganza and a chance to learn some French. Oui, oui!

Willy Wonka Chocolate Class For Kids

In honor of three Golden Tickets being placed in Tavernier Chocolates from May 1st to 14th, kids will make buttery pain au chocolate, a traditional afternoon snack for kids in France made with puff pastry and chocolate. They will learn about the chocolate making process including touching cacao pods and beans. The first 12 kids who sign up for the class will get a ticket for the screening of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie at the Latchis Theatre on May 7th.

May the 4th Be With You: Star Wars Event @ the Library

an afternoon celebration of Star Wars. Make some Star Wars crafts, participate
in a scavenger hunt, and check-out your favorite Star Wars books. Wear

During April, Windham County Safe Place Child Advocacy Center has set up a make your own blue pinwheel activity to promote awareness of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Make one, take one, and add to our outdoor blue pinwheel display supporting safe and healthy children and families.

For ages 9-11. Reclaim your wild skills! Use your senses to track and stalk, uncovering the hidden stories of the wild. Find your way using signs on the land, finding clues, and learn how to use a map and compass. Practice your fire making skills, dye cloth with plants, identify wild edibles and taste wild plant teas.  Imagine living closer to the land.

Thoughtful Trasher Earth Day Celebration Art Class for Kids!
