Cirque Us! Presents: DreamCycle

We’re Cirque Us! a new, modern circus collective based in New England and we've brought a new original show with us for our Summer 2017 tour. 'DreamCycle' reimagines traditional circus, leading audiences on an adventure through a new, yet strangely familiar world. The performance will include acrobats, jugglers, tightrope walkers, aerialists and of course, clowns. This 90 minute production is fun and entertaining for all ages, and reflects the mission of Cirque Us! Which is to bring high-level, affordable circus shows to local communities, while spreading the values of teamwork and the importance of play.

Alumni Dance at the VFW!

VFW Annual Family Outing

July 30th from 11:00 am - 5 PM

The Brattleboro VFW Post #1034 will be hosting their annual Family Outing Sunday, July 30th. A $25 ticket will enter you for a chance to win money, with a grand prize of $1000. The meal will be grilled steak, baked potato, corn on the cob, and a roll. The $25 cost will also cover entry into the dance featuring Champagne Jam Band.

For $12 you get a meal and entrance to the dance. A $7 charge will be offered to those wanting to attend the dance only. Burgers and hot dogs will also be for sale.

Doors open at 11 am, food is served from 1-3 pm, and the band is from 1 - 5 pm.

You do not have to be a member to attend this event. The public is welcome.

Vibrant Ensemble at Superfresh Cafe

Superfresh Cafe on Main Street in Brattleboro is once again pleased to present VIBRANT ENSEMBLE on Saturday, June 10, 2017, from 8-10 pm. This ensemble is comprised of Percussionist & Gong Specialist Stephan Brandstatter along with multi-instrumentalist & ethnomusicologist Dennis Waring. Performances are comprised of original innovative compositions played on a wide assortment of instruments. The mood is calming, ethereally soothing and yet upbeat as well. Dennis plays saxophones, clarinet and a variety of flutes and ocarinas. Stephan plays an array of gongs, chimes, Tibetan bowls, bells, djembe, frame drum, dumbek and more.

Community Contra Dance at Pierce's Hall in East Putney

Community contra dance at Pierce’s Hall, called by Steve Howland. All ages and skill levels are welcome, and all dances are taught. No partner or experience necessary. Live music will be provided by Amy Cann, Laurie Indenbaum, Carol Compton, and the All Comers Band.

The evening begins with a beginners’ session from 7:30 to 8:00, followed by dancing until about 10:30. The suggested donation is $10. To reach Pierce’s Hall in East Putney, go north from Putney Village for 2 miles on Rt. 5. Turn right onto East Putney Falls Road and go 1/2 mile until you come to the driveway to the hall on the left.
