Day of Caring 2017

Date & Time:
Sep 23 2017 - 8:00am - 12:00pm

At the United Way of Windham County, caring is our super power and we are inviting local superheroes from area towns, companies, schools and civic organizations to participate in volunteer service projects across Windham County on Saturday, September 23, from 9am - noon for our 8th annual Day of Caring.

Day of Caring superhero volunteers choose from a variety of service projects, using their super powers to address the needs of local organizations and public partners. Last year, over 400 hours of volunteer time was logged in one day – a extraordinary demonstration of the caring super power of our community.

It’s time to put on your cape! The day will begin for volunteers at 8:00 a.m. with a superhero-themed kick-off breakfast at the American Legion on Linden Street in Brattleboro – walk-ins are welcome! Volunteers are encouraged to dress the part and don superhero attire! We’ll have a superhero photo booth at the breakfast, be awarding prizes and leading all volunteers in an “Oath of Caring” in true superhero fashion.

Then rain or shine, from 9am to noon, superhero volunteers will spread out to sites throughout Windham County to provide volunteer service. Just visit www.unitedwaywindham.org and click Volunteer to sign up for a project.

Day of Caring is sponsored by Holstein Association USA, People’s United Bank, The Richards Group, and SIT, with in-kind support from C&S Wholesale Grocers, the American Legion, Leader Distribution Systems, and Farrell Distributing Corporation.
