Opening Reception for In-Sight Photography Project's 19th Annual Photography Exhibition & Benefit Auction

Date & Time:
Nov 3 2017 - 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Exhibition features donated works of renowned fine art and documentary photographers.

2017 marks In-Sight Photography Project's 25th year in service to young people of Southeastern Vermont and throughout the country, with exemplary instruction in the photographic arts - regardless of ability to pay.

To help make this possible In-Sight annually presents a photography exhibition and benefit auction to rival any in New England. In this, its 19th year, the show will once again bring together the donated works of some 200 international, national and local photographers, filling the gallery walls at the Vermont Center for Photography (VCP), at 49 Flat Street, Brattleboro, VT, and the virtual walls online via www.32auctions.com/insight2017. The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 3 and runs through 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017.  The VCP gallery is open daily from 12 - 5 p.m. Online bidding will conclude at 6 p.m. on the 26th.

To add to the festive spirit of 2017, In-Sight is running a special 25th Anniversary Photographic Print Raffle featuring the work of renowned nature conservation photographer, James Balog and famed Finnish-American photographer, Arno Rafael Minkkinen.  Each is a framed, museum-quality print valued at $3,000. Tickets are available online at www.insightphotography.org -- $25 for one, and $100 for five. The drawing will take place at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 26. Ticketholders need not be present.

This auction is In-Sight's signature fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting the In-Sight Scholarship Fund. It is also In-Sight's way to ensure that the photographic arts are part of our cultural landscape and that generations of young people are empowered to find their creative voices through visual arts.

In addition to its Brattleboro-based classes for youth 11 - 18, In-Sight offers its unique Exposures Cross-Cultural Youth Arts Program - for most of its 15 years run at Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Students aged 15 - 21 come together to learn how the arts can be a common language in building understanding among diverse cultures.

We welcome and encourage individuals with disabilities to contact us with specific accommodations they may need to facilitate participation in the event.
