Divest the Globe Vigil and Speak-Out

Date & Time:
Oct 23 2017 - 9:00am - 5:00pm

Between October 23rd and 25th, ninety-two of the world's largest banks will meet in São Paolo, Brazil to discuss policies on the climate and Indigenous People's rights to Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC).

On these dates, the Indigenous-led coalition Mazaska Talks is calling on allies everywhere to join us for 3 days of mass global action. The banks need to know that financing climate disaster and the abuse of Indigenous Peoples is not acceptable business practice.

In Vermont, TD Bank is the target because of its long history of funding tar sands extraction, pipelines such as Keystone XL, and fossil fuel activities.

There will be a vigil in front of TD Bank in Brattleboro on Oct. 23 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., the last hour of which will be a speak-out. Join us at any point during the day.

Sponsored by Post-Oil Solutions and 99th Monkey Affinity Group.
