NEYT presents: "Disney's Alice in Wonderland, Jr." 2 pm

Date & Time:
May 14 2017 - 2:00pm - 3:30pm

New England Youth Theater presents “DISNEY’S ALICE IN WONDERLAND JR", directed by Shoshana Bass, performed on May 5 - 7 and 12 -14 at NEYT, 100 Flat Street in Brattleboro.

Travel down the rabbit hole and join Alice, one of literature’s most beloved heroines, on her madcap adventures in this fast-paced take on a classic story. Based on the classic tale by Lewis Carroll, this adaptation of the musical sets the action in a hospital, where a child’s boredom gives way to imagination as the doctors, other patients, and hospital staff all transform into the strange characters of Wonderland. Featuring updated songs from Disney’s thrilling animated motion picture, the worlds between make-believe and real become blurred as Alice is transported to a quirky, new, and wondrous world. From her first meeting with the White Rabbit, her adventures become increasing more strange as she races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game!
“These young actors are working hard to create a strong culture of trust and mentorship”, says Bass, the director and an NEYT alum, “this multi-aged cast is creating this world with skill and spunk and I feel so fortunate to be a part of making young professional theater here in our hometown”.
With plenty of singing, dancing, and acting, and highlighted by fantastical costumes and intricate work with projections and shadows, this show will entertain and delight audiences of all ages.
Alice in Wonderland, Jr. performs May 5 - 7 and 12 - 14: Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 7pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets for these performances are $10 for students, $13 for adults, and $12 for seniors.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.neyt.org, in person at the NEYT Box Office, or by phone (802) 246-6398 from 12-5pm on Wednesdays. The show plays at New England Youth Theatre, 100 Flat St. Brattleboro.
