2016 was the 50th anniversary of
the establishment of the National Park Service's Allagash Wilderness Waterway,
a 92-mile wilderness canoe route. Author and humorist Tim Caverly will guide
the audience along an armchair canoe trip down this most remote section of New
England’s northern forest. Hear lore and legends of lumbering’s forgotten past,
how wild animals adapt to survive. He'll include tales of ghosts and UFO’s,
unusual animal antics, and introduce us to some of the characters that rangers
meet every day.
