Samirah Evans Salutes Billie Holiday

Date & Time:
Apr 23 2017 - 6:00pm - 8:30pm

Friends of Music at Guilford (FOMAG), now in its 51st season, presents its 8th annual Women in Music benefit gala at a private West Brattleboro residence on Sunday, April 23, with a buffet supper, silent auction, and concert. The 6:00 supper buffet includes hearty hors d'oeuvres, salads, and sides, with cheese, fruit, wine from Louisiana, and other beverages. The 7:00 concert features New Orleans transplant Samirah Evans performing songs written or made famous by legendary singer-composer Billie Holiday, with Ken Olsson on piano. Silent Auction offerings include gift certificates to eateries and merchants as well as numerous pairs of tickets and series passes for other arts events in the region (concerts, plays, movies, and more). Ticket bids open at 2-for-1 prices -- bidders get a bargain, presenters receive PR for their events, and FOMAG benefits from the support, a win-win-win all around! A dessert buffet follows the music, with delectable treats from area restaurants, inns, bakeries, and private chefs. This event supports the many free and affordable events in FOMAG's current season. Reservations are required as seating is limited. Suggested donation per person is $35. Contact the Friends of Music office at (802) 254-3600 or office@fomag.org by noon on the 23rd for further information, reservations, and directions to the event site.
